Advanced Improv Theatre Workshop - Creating Tension with Gur Shachar
Code: 74Product detailed description
What makes an audience lean in — even before anything dramatic has happened?
In this workshop, we’ll explore practical tools for creating and sustaining tension in improvised scenes — without rushing into conflict or forcing the story forward.
We’ll work on building specific relationships, giving characters a clear emotional point of view, and using unspoken needs, expectations, and shifts in connection to keep the scene alive. You’ll learn how to let moments breathe, stay fully present with your scene partner, and build tension gradually — so the audience becomes invested in the characters and genuinely needs to know what happens next.
Through focused exercises and scene work, we’ll practice turning a simple interaction into a rich, compelling scene that can hold the audience’s attention from beginning to end.
Who can apply: The workshop is intended for intermediate to advanced level improvisers. The minimum requirement is 1.5 years of improv course or equivalent experience. If you are unsure that you are experienced enough contact us!
